Beach and Bush

Levi's Beach
Kate, Andy's daughter, has been here for almost two weeks, taking in all the sights and sounds of the Warrnambool area. We're trying to tick off the list of animals. Still a no-go on the platypus or the echidna. We started our Sunday afternoon at Levi's Beach (pronounced lee-vee's), a place that Andy had seen on the map but we had not managed to get to yet. Wow, I can't believe we've been here for nine months and hadn't been this beach before. It was gorgeous.

Next stop, a fish and chips shop for a picnic at Tower Hill. We were joined by an unwelcome guest, first one emu and by the time we left, there were five emus in the picnic area. They were definitely looking for handouts and weren't afraid to get in our faces about it.

"I'm here for the picnic, whether you like it or not."

The emus weren't interested in us unless we had food.

Andy spotted this hawk on our way out of the park.

On our drive home: one of these things is not like the other...
